Ultamatix can be downloaded (in a practical .deb package) from its website and, with just few clicks, installed on your Ubuntu (now, also the jaunty 9.04 is fully supported). Ultamatix is very useful especially for the Linux beginners who have the possibility to add many programs, themes and icons in just with few clicks. We executed some different tests on Ubuntu 9.04 and the results were positive. Moreover, you can decide to uninstall the software directly from the Ultamatix menu at any time. This project is in continuous development and every new version contains new surprises. Anyway, even if we are not expert gamers but we were really satisfied from some titles we tested. Recommended!

Today , in our Linux Page (in Spanish) we posted a brief review about installing Ubuntu Tweak and Moblock on Ubuntu 9.04. We have read different websites on these topics but the best are the official ones that we advise you to visit them:
http://ubuntu-tweak.com/downloads for Ubuntu Tweak and
http://moblock-deb.sourceforge.net/ for Moblock.
Ubuntu Tweak is the most flexible graphical interface to configure desktop and system options on your Jaunty. On the other side,Moblock is a powerful software to protect your privacy when you surf internet and it is based on a huge list of IP address which are not considered as friendly.
We strongly believe that the most efficient solution is to add the sources on your Software Sources (System – Administration – Software Sources); for Ubuntu Tweak:
1 – using Terminal, import the key sudo apt-key adv –recv-keys –keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com FE85409EEAB40ECCB65740816AF0E1940624A220
2 – import the source on the Software Sources

deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/tualatrix/ubuntu jaunty main
deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/tualatrix/ubuntu jaunty main

3 – install Ubuntu Tweak (using Terminal)
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install ubuntu-tweak
To add Moblock in your sources it is necessary:
1 – import the keys, using Terminal
gpg –keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com –recv-keys 9C0042C8
gpg –export –armor 9C0042C8 | sudo apt-key add -
2 – import the source on the Software Sources
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/jre-phoenix/ppa/ubuntu jaunty main
deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/jre-phoenix/ppa/ubuntu jaunty main
3 – install Moblock (using Terminal)
sudo aptitude update
sudo aptitude install moblock blockcontrol mobloquer

This week, in our Linux Page (in Spanish), we have described UNetbootin: a powerful software which allows you to install many different Linux OS (Ubuntu, Fedora, openSUSE, CentOS, Debian, ArchLinux and many others) on a bootable USB key. The use of UNetbootin is really simple and after a couple of tests everyone is able to create his/her own portable OS on USB. Moreover can be used to easily install a new Linux OS directly on the local hard disk. In fact, this software properly manages Linux and Windows bootloader without causing side effects. I personally recommend UNetbootin to all the people who always desires testing the last OS versions and do not want to install them directly on their PC. Last but not least, UNetbootin is available in the followiing languages: English, Spanish, Russian, Portuguese and Hungarian. Easy, useful tool!

APTonCD is very simple to install and allows you to save copies of all the packages you have installed on your Debian or on your Ubuntu. Anyway, it could be very useful to create “clones” when you want to install the same programs on different computers and you do not want to create your own portable distribution. The menus are very intuitive and well structured, moreover, the graphical interface is clean and enjoyable. Last but not least APTonCD could be worthless in case of PC crash: with just few click you can restore your full OS. Recommended!

This icon Theme is really complete and the graphical effects are bright and very smooth. Moreover, the creator (an Italian geek) has developed different mods for the main Linux distribution (Ubuntu, Fedora, Suse, Mandriva RedHat, Debian, Gentoo etc..). We like this Theme also because it contains different icons for any application, so it is possible to 100% personalize our desktop and continuously change it tasting always new graphical solutions.
