DreamLinux 2.2 MME: a new interesting Linux CD distribution in Portuguese and English

In our Linux page Frank posted a detailed review about DreamLinux 2.2 MME (multimedia edition). This distribution, available in Portuguese and English has a very clean graphical interface and is built to facilitate Linux beginners. In fact, not only DreamLinux is very updated for office pourposes but it contains many useful application for multimedia, programming, science and graphics. Moreover, DreamLinux has an “easy install” resource which easily help you to install new compatible Linux applications. The tutorials page (written in English) contains many useful tips for DreamLinux beginners. We like DreamLinux especially because the packages are updated and because it offers good graphic interfaces.
Click’N Run by Linspire: soon on other Linux distributions!
This week, in our Linux page we posted some news about Click’R Run, the well known Linspire’s software (free in its basic version) to manage applications, libraries and packages. Soon (more or less 5 months), Click’N Run will be available also for Debian, Fedora, Freespire, OpenSUSE and Ubuntu. In its actual Linspire version, Click’N Run is very easy to use and has a library of 20.000 Linux packages so I think that it will be interesting to try when it will be available for the other Linux distributions.
Ubuntu Windows installer: an easy path to Linux world!
Today, in our Linux Page we posted a useful review about Ubuntu Windows Installer. This software solves many problems (and fears) you have when decide to install Ubuntu, Kubuntu or Xubuntu on your computer. Ubuntu Windows Installer manages all the steps during the installation and it also modifies the original hard disk partition due to have two different OS on your computer. Ubuntu Windows Installer is very easy to use and I consider it as one the best practical solution for Linux beginners. Try it.. and let us know your comments! 
IEs4Linux: a wonderful solution to have Internet Explorer running in Linux!
Today, in the Linux Page, Frank has posted a very interesting review about IEs4Linux. In fact sometimes we have to use IE in websites created only for IE. The post is very detailed and contains all the instruction to install IEs4Linux in Ubuntu and Kubuntu. Obviously, we personally prefer Firefox but IE is an essential feature to “surf” the web also when we use Linux.
Speech Recognition Engines fo Linux: Perlbox and CMUSphinx
Today, in the Linux page you find a post about two different speech recognition programs: Perlbox and CMUSphinx. We think that these voice enabled applications could be useful if you want to fast the way you use your desktop. We tested them in English and the results were pretty good. We suggest you to try them even if you haven’t any specific needs to use them. At least, you will spend some interesting hours testing the softwares our sons will use in next generation computers.
How to create a tar (or gz, bz2, tar.gz, tar.bz2, zip, lha, arj, zoo, rar) file in Linux.

This short manual (yes it is a manual because we included also the instructions to create: gz, bz2, tar.gz, tar.bz2, zip, lha, arj, zoo, rar files) is short but very clear and easy to use. Wine.. for Linux; free file converter and free file hosting services!
Hi everyone, we are sorry for our delay in writing new posts! This week in our Linux page (in Spanish) you can find some new posts. The first post is about Wine and the easiest way (we hope, let us know…) to install this program in Linux OS. The second post concerns zamzar.com, an useful web-page where you can easily convert your files (image, doc, music, video) to different formats (the use of a temporary email address is recommended if you believe it’s not sure to spread your personal email address). Last but not least, we have posted a brief review about Mediafire: a free file hosting site (practical and easy to use). See you next week!
Autopackage: how to easily install software in Linux
This week we posted an interesting review on Autopackage, perhaps the best program to install software in Linux. Autopackage is easy, fast and compatible with all the Linux versions. We think you all (not only the Linux beginners) will really appreciate this freeware. Please, let us know!
